April Newsletter

Dear Member,

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Bramhall CC newsletter.

Following on from an excellently supported senior training, pre-season talk and social evening at Church Lane on Thursday, the senior sides went into the weekend with confidence.

Unfortunately, the First XI lost by 5 wickets at Widnes on a slow and slightly damp wicket. Bramhall posted 150 all out in the 53rd over with only skipper Nick Cantello significantly contributing with 42. However, a committed effort in the field made life difficult for the hosts who eventually passed the target with only 3 balls remaining. The 25-4 points totals did not offer a true reflection of the game. The 1sts face Christleton at Church Lane this Saturday from 1pm.

The Second XI started their season off with a rousing win at home to Widnes. Spurred on by an excellent 94* from Tim Wood and a hasty 50 from James Day, Bramhall posted a challenging 250-6 from 50 overs. The visitors were never in the hunt and good bowling from all, including 4 scalps from Luke Littlewood, saw Widnes bundled out for under a hundred to give Bramhall a 150 run victory and 25 points. The 2nds travel to local rivals Macclesfield this Saturday. Skipper Chris Heppell is still very keen to appoint an official scorer for anyone that fancies making some pocket-money.

The Third XI had a friendly 20/20 against a Manchester University side on Sunday and came through with a close win in chasing 111. The wicket and outfield were lightning-like  and the game saw a good selection of strokes and diving stops. The 3rds also travel to Macclesfield this weekend, when their league campaign begins on Sunday.

BESPOKE MEMORABILIA RANGE
